THE BLOG AS A WEB 2.0 TOOL FOR THE PLANNING ON PROBLEM SOLVING

THE BLOG AS A WEB 2.0 TOOL FOR THE PLANNING ON PROBLEM SOLVING

Education has not been immune to the impact of technologies Of Information and Communication; Teachers of the 21st century should adopt a new profile that covers a broad spectrum of competencies in relation to new technological resources.

That is why I propose the use of the blog tool to be used in favor of the “Planning on problem solving” from the collaborative activity 1; becouse it is the most abundant node in Web 2.0 and provides an easy and affordable system to publish on the Internet individually or collectively.

Blogs are among the most productive tools, since they probably offer a better relation between time and effort invested, on the one hand and results obtained, on the other. In addition, they are technological artefacts very interesting from the semiotic and structural point of view. Some of the most popular blogs are: Blogger (http://www.blogger.com/), Wordpress.com (http://wordpress.com/), Blogspot (http://blogspot.es/), etc.

A blog can be adapted to almost any conceivable use in education, both for the work of teachers and for students. It can become a good learning tool for students as a good knowledge management tool for the teacher.

Teachers can use a blog to publish instructional materials that the students can access to and where the students can make comments. Teachers can also let students set up their own blogs for a particular subject or for several subjects and then assign tasks to students. The tasks should be done using blogs (i.e., publishing articles and sharing them with other students). While the students develop their own blogs, teachers can observe and monitor the students' progress, and identify the learning needs that have not been considered (e.g., students may directly or indirectly express their doubts on blogs). As the information on students' blogs are growing, teachers need to classify, summarise and evaluate different students' blogs and then publish the teachers' opinions, directions, and feedback on their own blogs or on class blogs.

Taking into account the problem raised by me in the previous activity “Low motivational level in students” and that the solution plan is focused on the methodological causes wich required atractive methodologies, work techniques that facilitate learning and less difficulty of homework; the blog can be used because is one of the easiest online publishing resources for a user with minimal Internet browsing experience and also for its exceptional ability to publish content and integrate resources from a wide variety of backgrounds, especially those coming from the services of the so-called Web 2.0 or social web: audio, video, animations, documents, presentations, maps, surveys, lines Time, concept maps, interactive exercises, etc. That will undoubtedly motivate and make learning of our students more enjoyable.
